Lisbon in November
This year, our little D-vitamine break happened in November and not as far as an island in the Atlantic: Lisbon.

Back amongst the walking
In the summer, we found a new hobby: bouldering (indoor climbing). I injured myself relatively early, though, and have either been on crutches or focusing on rehab training since. When I learned to use my two legs properly again (it's not as easy as you might think!), it so happened that the night was particularly foggy in Copenhagen.

Copenhagen Pride - 2022 style
As most years that we've now lived in Copenhagen we've attended the PRIDE PARADE and it's always a blast. So many happy loving people, a very respectful crowd, lots of parties through the streets of the inner city with lights, beers and bass.

3.287km to the tree line - roadtrip through Norway
It's now three months and a knee injury after our trip to Norway, so while being couchbound and quite static I thought it was about time to share the stories and photos we haven't shared yet.

Madeira in black and white
Our travel locations often lend themselves to colour, the dark green forests, the cyan sea, a bright red camping van on dark brown vulcano ash, but some of our favourite shots come out black and white every time.

Wild Caribou - Sleeping in a dome under the Midnight Sun
As one does not cross the polar circle to get to the most northern parts of the globe very often in one's lifetime (we assume, at least), we went for the tourist experience of sleeping in a dome with a view on a continuously bright sky.

The most North we've ever been: North Cape
When the opportunity arose to go on a roadtrip in Norway and visit the North Cape in May, we obviously said yes. Norway would surely make for some great landscape photos!

Cosplay Shoot with SurineCosplay as Imogen Temult from Critical Role
How does one have a photoshoot with a cosplayer of a character, that only lives in the head of the person that created it for a game, that most of the time had no or barely any visual aspects to it?

To sunset or not to sunset
An island, surrounded and covered by clouds and fog because of the humid air, interesting and extreme landscapes - everything about Madeira made us think that we might come home with SD cards filled with sunset photos. However, sunset photos turned out to be more challenging for us to achieve than we expected.

Trails and waterfalls
Madeira has been nicknamed "The Hawaii of Europe" for their green and lush forests and vast height differences due to its volcanic nature. Obviously, forests can only be green and lush if there is plenty of water, so when hiking under the treelines there are small streams and waterfalls everywhere of the water running down the mountains.

Mystical Madeira - Fanal Forest
Fanal Forest is a swampy area just below the treeline with a lot of crookedly growing trees, giving them the perfect look for locations for fantasy movies. As the area is pretty high up and we are on Madeira, fog and/or clouds sometimes roll over this area adding to the eerie atmosphere.

On Cloud Nine - Pico do Areeiro
On our first day on Maderia we drove up to one of the highest peaks of the island. Pico do Areeiro is 1,818m high and Madeira's third highest peak. Yes, people bike up here! We drove by bikers when we were already over the clouds!

We spent Christmas on Madeira!
When there seemed to be a small window of opportunity in the Corona situation, we grabbed all our gear and our friend Anna and left the cold and miserable European mainland for a more exotic destination: Madeira!

XP-Pen Artist 15.6 for photo editing
Wacom is still a big name in the drawing tablet industry, but other brands are emerging on the scene and slowly pushing their way onto various recommendation lists. I ended up getting the XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro. Upgrading from the Intuos CTH-480 to the XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro definetely is a bit of a change.

Darwin in the Woods - Italian Greyhound Photoshoot
Darwin was the best dog model we have worked with so far, no doubt about it. He not only could do a great variety of tricks, he was also so eager to do them and to work for those delicious sausage pieces that he was super easy to direct.

Copenhagen's Icy Veins
We had a short period of time where temperatures dropped enough for water to freeze all over the country. Lakes turned into ice rinks, and slush ice phenomena at beaches invited the common Dane to go and try out this winter swimming thing.

Skater Sunset
We have some NKD Canadiens boards, which we picked up cheaply and which are the board we've spend the most time on and have gotten hurt on the most. Riding them is very beginner friendly and pretty fun, because of their size and even though they are stiff they get over rougher streets well.

Let's do better in 2021
It's January, it's time to write yet another year review - how time just flies by. We might not have taken that many photos this year, but we certainly dived into our old, shared passion for film making.

Among Deer - Fall in Dyrehaven
Dyrehaven has everything you want for atmospheric autumn photos: big trees with leaves that turn into the most beautiful red and orange tones, sloping paths with people and horseback riders, fog, sunrays peaking through the tree tops, and deer that have only one thing on their mind at this time of year - procreation.
