April 2025 is Black and White

The good news is, I’ve been bringing my camera more and have the chance to shoot during my commute.

The bad news is that I’ve started bringing the camera while commuting because some of my colleagues got laid off and wiped from my everyday life through no fault of their own.

Putting April on a grey scale and weighing the shapes against each other, has been a fun photography excercise. Remember to just say yes, capture what you can along the way. It’ll be too late soon enough.

The swans built their nest on a small floating bird island that was meant for coots or some other small birds, but an adult swan seems to fit on it to build a nest.

Swans are known to be quite defensive of their territory, this one also hissed at me, but it only waddled towards me at a very unconfrontational pace.

This reminds me of a video I wanted to recommend, both the featured photographer are amazing for their respective jobs. Giacomo Brunelli is incredible at capturing dark and dynamic pictures with the animals of urban spaces, but also the narrator and video creator has a fantastic ability to immerse himself in the style of others and create a small film sharing their excitement with all of us.

The city is still beautiful and harsh with its skyline, concrete roads and often unobserved actors moving around.

Another gas station shot made it into the blog, although not as pleasant as the foggy ones from the last post.

The industrial buildings always remind me of home or “geographical origin” as would be a more fitting term by now.

The roller coaster of rain and sun is keeping any photographer happy these days!

We’re doing good, the permanent dog photography model as well! The next time will be in colour, we promise <3.
